My latest work combines traditional book construction with a contemporary freestyle method of cover design. On the covers I experiment with on-lay techniques, dyes, unusual leather grains, gold leaf, tooling, embossing, and cutting in a collage like manner. I enjoy the contrast between slow, precise, controlled work of binding a book, and the random, energetic, and immediate process of creating a cover collage.
