I've always had a fascination for the fleeting beauties found in nature. With the Daniel Boone National Forest at my back door, I have unending inspiration at hand. When choosing my subject, I consider carefully its texture and detail. I enjoy rendering both perfect, shiny leaves as well as those blemished by insects. Various species of wood hold unique qualities needed for each portion of a sculpture. While applying each layer of color, I see the wood transform into what I had originally envisioned.
