Marcia McDade McMann

Cedar Grove, NC

Exhibiting Member Since 1993

Marcia McDade McMann has been making art for 30 years, beginning with silk screen printmaking. She used both watercolor and oil paint to explore color and composition issues, and enjoyed their versatility and their ability to define form. Still working in silkscreen, she began to explore ways to produce monotypes using oil pastel and oil based silk-screen ink. This process is more immediate, and the images she produces are more personal than her traditional silk screen pieces. She continues to experiment, using textile crayons on fabric and textile printing processes. She is hoping to combine her interest in folk quilting traditions with the techniques she has developed over the years.
