Staunton, VA | Exhibiting Since 2000

I hand cut black paper from my own freehand drawings, using gold leaf, opals, pearls, and gold balls as doorknobs. I then do a 3-D mount, placing the cutting(s) on one or more layers. My work is driven by my love of the works of master metalsmiths, both past and present. My intent is to display my paper cuttings as ironwork and create awareness in the general public to both fine metalwork, and the crafts of paper cutting. I get excited about the tiniest details, the rhythm of design, the small creative accents, and the three dimensional look of what I do. I especially enjoy the strength of black and white and the power of negative space. I strive for authenticity and historical documentation of noteworthy ironwork.
