My designs feature geometric shapes inspired by forms from nature. I create jewelry using sterling silver, brass, copper, and my own hand cut gemstones. I use many traditional jewelry and metalsmithing techniques including lapidary, forging, riveting, soldering, and stone setting. The use of texture from hammering, stamping, and roll-printing lends an organic, earthy feeling to my work. I often use heat-form rivets as a connection, which act as hinges. These give my pieces a lot of movement, and also lends a subtle industrial aesthetic to my work. I finish my designs with a brushed patina, highlighting texture and enhancing contrast between the metals and stones.
