The East Asian heritage of artist Pei-Ling Becker is unmistakable throughout the body of her work. Her mixed media collages are at once ancient and contemporary, serious and whimsical, and reflect both Chinese and Japanese cultural influences. Ms. Becker has been participating in juried art and craft festivals for nine years. She is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Piedmont Craftsmen and the Carolina Designer Craftsmen. Samples of her work are included in several books; her studio is included in Handcrafted in the Blue Ridge, a guide to working art and craft studios in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
