We use the subtractive method of sgraffito on delicate porcelain to create a synthesis between surface and form. Our vessels are hand thrown, coated with a terra sigilatta, then carved when the coating is dry. Our designs of trees, leaves and plants are very delicate as they envelope the entire surface of the vessels. No two pieces are identical. The patterns are ever evolving, as new images and ideas present themselves. The work is influenced by a fascination with motifs from textiles, wood cuts, arts and crafts period pieces, and the vast details in nature.
