Linda F. Gourley
Dry Fork, VA | Exhibiting Since 1985
Linda Gourley’s hand-colored, whimsical prints often play on traditional turn of the century boudoir images of women at their toilette, and denizens of the café society. Her cafes and bed chambers are populated with a cast of characters that includes slightly naughty, pleasure loving rabbits and voyeuristic cats as well as humans. Other works are more spiritual in nature, suggesting ancient totems and goddess figures. She calls her newest series of prints “Garden Angels.” Whatever the subject matter, her work is filled with a celebration of the individual spirit and a sense of joy.
