My goal as a rocking horse maker is to create a usable and safe toy that engages children and encourages creativity, and will also be an heirloom quality work of art. My original designs focus on an expressive and welcoming face, which breathes life and love into these wooden treasures. I use the highest quality materials, including a food safe non-petroleum oil and wax finish, real horse hair manes and tails, and glass eyes. They also include options of foot pegs, handles, or adjustable leather tack. I use reclaimed wood whenever possible, and always use native woods from local sources. I also carve other horse art and horse portraits or figurines. Custom orders are welcome. I am so happy to create a work of art that I know will bring joy and fun, and that will last a lifetime.
