Tim Garvin

Durham, NC | Exhibiting Since 2005

Tim Garvin creates his jewelry in porcelain and silver with pearl and stabilized exotic woods as accents. He works in a technique know as millifiore (a thousand flowers), using over 500 different colors of clay to create carefully designed loaves which are sliced in to sections, shaped and finished into individual pieces, then glazed and fired three separate times. An MFA trained artist, Garvin looks at the world in detail, noticing intricacies, contrasts, and rhythms of color to inspire his designs. He has been creating jewelry for more than thirty years.
