I make salt fired functional pottery. All of my work is thrown on the potters wheel, some of it is then altered into different forms. Some of the pieces are glazed, some are decorated with colored slips and all of them are salt-fired in my kiln. Salt firing is a process in which salt is added to the kiln at the highest temperature combining with the clay on the surface of the piece and resulting in a distinctive clear mottled glaze. Each piece will be a little different depending on its placement in the kiln.

Hand-drawn iron transfer decals are applied to some of the pieces and they are fired again at a lower temperature. All of my work is intended for use.
