Shirley Taylor Marriott

Winston-Salem, NC | In Memoriam

Arist Statement: I began making jewelry in my mid-thirties and have continued to be fascinated by the designing and the process of executing finished pieces. My inspiration comes from many sources. I love nature and the out-of-doors and some of my designs draw from our region’s flora and fauna. However, people also inspire me. As I get to know my customers I make pieces to suit their lifestyles. My faith in God has been an open avenue to the feeling and spirituality that goes into my work. Sometimes a moving experience will direct me in the design. It always feels satisfying when someone looks at the piece and feels the same thing I did making it.
